DWMS Clubs Catalog: 2021-2022 School Year


Art Club
Students will be given the opportunity to explore a variety of mediums they may not be able to try in a typical class setting. Artwork will be created for one’s own personal enjoyment but may also include creating murals or pieces of art for the school. Come release your artistic energy and join Art Club!


Bingo Club
“Bingo!” You know the rules to this classic game. When you have five consecutive boxes in a row that are called out, yell “Bingo!” for a prize! We’ll trade out boards so you will have multiple chances to win! Are you feeling lucky? Sign up and join us for the fun!


Blooket and Kahoot Club
Do you love trivia games? How about fast-paced competition? From movies to science, music to random knowledge, the Blooket & Kahoot Club will make you flex your brain!


Chess Club
The Chess Club gives students an opportunity to play friendly games of chess against their peers in a low-stress environment. Students of all levels are welcome to come, as help is given to those who need it.


Delta Woods PUSH Ambassadors*
PUSH stands for Prevention Utilized for Student Health. We will discuss ways to promote healthy choices and help educate students on how to get support for their feelings and emotional well-being. We will focus on creating awareness through social media, games, giveaways, and service projects to spread positive messages of mental health on our school.


Exercise Club*
Learn the basics of a workout regimen. This club is for the student who wants to break a sweat, and learn some exercises that can be used to maintain a healthy lifestyle. We will be incorporating body weight exercises, cardio, and free weights. All participants will want to wear workout attire, and have a current physical on file. Limited space available.


Extreme Connect the Dots and Detailed Coloring Club
Coloring is a peaceful and pleasant activity that can provide a soothing and enjoyable pastime for people of any age. In this club you can choose from a variety of coloring pages, elaborate connect the dots, and color by numbers.


Friendship Bracelet Club

A friendship bracelet is a decorative bracelet given by one person to another as a symbol of friendship. Friendship bracelet club gives any interested student an opportunity to learn new bracelet designs and develop crafty art skills.

 

Garden Club
Do you have a green thumb? Come and explore the natural world. Students will examine different types of gardens. We’ll talk with experts about gardening tips. Together the club will plan, prepare, plant, and maintain a garden on the school grounds. If you like the outdoors, this is the club for you!

 

Golf Club
Fore!!!! Are you a golfer? Do you have an interest in learning and fine tuning the skills that allow you to drive, pitch, chip, and putt? Golf Club looks to help those familiar with the sport to those that are just picking up clubs. Let’s hit the links!


Harry Potter Club
Ever feel like a wizard or witch who is stuck in the Muggle World? Did your Hogwarts letter get lost in the mail? Worried you won’t get enough OWLs to make your dream of becoming an Auror a possibility? If you answered yes to any other these questions than Harry Potter Club is here to help! This club is for students that want to read or have read the series. Feel free to bring your Firebolts for a game of Quidditch or use one of the school’s Cleansweeps.


Lego Club
In Lego club we have the time and parts to move beyond the instructions. We will be focused on the traditional building blocks, but be prepared- we have bins of mismatched kits that you will have to dig thorough as you imagine what you want to create. If you need to follow the instructions, that’s okay too we have some old school kits that direct you part by part.

Jigsaw Puzzle Club
Jigsaw puzzles – 300 piece, 500 piece, 1000 piece, 3D puzzles. If you love jigsaw puzzles, this club might be for you. Jigsaw puzzles are fun and relaxing. Entertainment that uses both sides of your brain and helps with focus and concentration.


Math Puzzle Club
Do you like to exercise your brain by figuring out puzzles? Then the Math Puzzle Club may be for you! We will learn how to conquer Sudokus, cross-number puzzles, brain teasers, and other kinds of logic puzzles. Join the fun and stretch your mind and your imagination.


Mechanical Puzzle Club
Mechanical Puzzles are those where you get to put the pieces together or take them apart. You’ll find a variety of types, but you ‘ll need to figure out how each piece moves and why that is important for each new puzzle. Many involve systems of thinking like the classic Rubik’s cube, but we will see much more variety. Bring your own to stump the group or work through the collection we already have.


Minecraft Club
Join Minecraft club and you’ll be able to play and trade stories with the two best speed runners to ever teach at Delta Woods. We can also trash talk, are you Java or Bedrock?


Performing Arts Club
Join the cast and crew of the fall production for a club all about bettering yourself as a performer. We will be rehearsing parts of the fall production, hosting guests from the local performing arts industry, and getting tips on performing/auditioning.


Party Games Club
The Party Games club wants you! Join the club and learn the rules of playing some of these teachers’ favorite games: ping pong, ring toss, bags, and more! Club members will learn a few trick shots, watch some fun videos and compete against your friends.

Police Club
This club is designed to let you experience firsthand some of the techniques and tools utilized by police officers. We will have some hands on activities as well as discussions on police tactics and procedures. This is an introduction to the law enforcement arena and will help answer your questions and curiosity of how the criminal justice field operates.


Rainy Day Games
Need a little challenge and competition? What to learn new games to play with friends and family? Join the Rainy Day Game club. Games help develop strategy, persistence, and critical thinking skills.


Read and Feed
Do you wish there were time in the school day to just relax and enjoy a good book? Maybe have some snacks? If so, then Read & Feed is for you!


Sci-Show Club
Do you love science? Have you ever traveled down a rabbit hole of weird science videos? Have you found yourself saying, “I saw this really cool thing on YouTube!” Then this is the place for you! Join us as we explore the fascinating world of science and the internet!


Sign Language Club
Learn all about the art of sign language. You will learn vocabulary, by playing games and practicing signing. You will also learn about American Sign Language, fingerspelling and Deaf Culture. At the end there will be a silent party where you will communicate only in sign language.

Untangle Club
Learn the art of doodling to relax. You will learn 7 or 8 "tangles" to create designs. Quietly learn to appreciate this method to carry with you in the future as long as you have paper and pencil or pen.

Up, Up, and Away - The U.S. Air Force Club
Ever wonder what makes the U.S. Air Force the greatest flying force in the world? In this club, we’ll learn about the history, culture, and technology of the air force. We’ll learn about current and past flying weapon systems. We’ll also explore careers and avenues for entering the Air Force Academy. Plus, we’ll explore what daily life is like for people who are in the Air Force. Come and have fun! This club is for those who are interested in the military in general--and in the U.S. A. F. in particular. We’ll watch interesting movies of aircraft in action, learn-by-doing a bit of marching, drill, and ceremony, and listen to a guest speaker or two.


World Cultures
Are you ready for an exploration of global cultures?
Students will explore a variety of global cultures through holidays, foods, music, etc. shared from staff and fellow students. This club meets during activity schedule allotted times. While it is meant to be additional experiences related to Foreign Language offerings, it is open to all students.
